Weekly Photo Challenge: Threes

Weekly Photo Challenge: threes: a three picture story.

In a nutshell, a three-picture story is a way to help you think about storytelling with images. To create a three-picture story, gather:

  1. An establishing shot: a broad photo of your subject.
  2. A relationship: two elements interacting with one another.
  3. A detail: a close-up of one part of your subject.

Here a variation of this small fishing harbour story…

(Soon I’ll be going again to the harbour in Harlingen, in the early, early morning, watching the fisherman coming back from the sea… a wonderfull setting to make photo’s. These are from an excursion in 2009.)

  4. nicely done, a great sequence. what a brilliant photostory-telling technique this is. i want to keep that in mind from time to time. although sometimes it is nice to change it up. when i think of your posts, on some of them it would be a shame if you had only posted three images 🙂

    • Thanks a lot Sreejith (I must admit that I have to look very closely how to spell your name… 🙂 and I’m afraid that pronouncing it isn’t too easy either… but it is really beautiful!)

  11. Absolutely stunning photography in this post and throughout your blog. I come from a fishing port (smaller than this one) in Ireland and you can’t beat a morning out early when the catch is coming in. Looking forward to seeing more …

    • What a wonderful respons Safia. That makes this Weekly Photo Challenge so worthwhile; interacting with other people, also from other country’s, who share some universal values and passions. I’ll be going to this fishing port again in april, and will definitely share some of my pictures then. Hope to see you here again, you’re most welcome!
